A Nationally Certified Acupressure Practitioner from Poll to Pastern will be teaching at Thames Veterinary Service and Farm on October 21st at 2pm. This is a PRIVATE event, please do not register if you are not affilated with Thames Veterinary Service.
Acupressure can be very beneficial to the horse as a preventative care and complementary care options! Preventing and relieving condititions such as colic, inflammation, stomach ulcers, UTI, arthritis, poll tension, hindquarter stiffness, heaves, allergies, spookiness, wobblers, cushings, diarrhea, spontaneous sweating, and so much more!
This is a hands on clinic that will allow you to find acupressure points on any horse. The clinic will be roughly 3-4 hours long and will start with some basic knowledge of acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine. We will then learn the vast amount of benefits of each acupressure point for this clinic. You will also learn how to find the points, techniques of touching the points, how much pressure, and what to look for when providing an acupressure session to your horse. This will be followed up with a demonstration of the location of these points. From there, you will be able to work in pairs on a horse and find the points on your own! The instructor will be right there with you the whole time if you have any questions. This is not a certification course.
We will provide a folder with an equine skeleton sheet for you to write on for the acupressure locations and descriptions of the points. The sheet has some blank space, but you can bring more paper for notes if you wish. Thames will be providing snacks and drinks for the clinic, if you have dietary restrictions, please contact the host or bring your own.
This clinic is not a certification course and is non-refundable!
