About Poll to
Pastern

We are committed to helping animals feel their best with holistic services: Acupressure, Red Light Therapy and Aromatherapy. Poll to Pastern began in 2019 with a big dream to become a staple preventative care option for animal owners in the Charlotte area. In the beginning, we specialized in equines. That's why our name means head to toe (well almost) in horse terms! Poll is the highest point on the horse and pastern is the area just before the hoof. We wanted to show that we care for the entire body of the animal through our name. Then, we decided to add small animal services! This way, we can offer the same great benefits to all the animals in our lives!

On top of offering amazingly beneficial sessions, we also teach acupressure classes and clinics. Our Nationally Certified Animal Acupressure Practitioners provide a basic understanding of what acupressure is, the vast benefits the points provide, how to apply pressure to the points, and what to look for when working the points.

Our Nationally Certified Practitioners are extremely passionate about the animals and always provide a calm, relaxing session. Our services provide the best well-being options for any and all animals! Acupressure and Red Light Therapy work great for preventative and complementary care for your four legged family! Choosing preventative care options, like acupressure, is the best thing you can do for them!

About the Owner

Stephanie found her love for horses very early in life. The moment she was placed on a saddle for the first time, she knew that she wanted more. Her love of horses has never ceased throughout her life. She largely has her aunt to thank for first introducing her to horses and then teaching her how to ride Western as soon as she was able. Going on to perform in Western shows when she was younger. As she grew into high school, she even moved on to enjoy barrel racing, pole bending, and trail riding.

In 2015, she achieved magna cum laude in her Bachelor's in Science degree, Animal Science Specializing in Equines from the University of Florida. During her schooling, many of the classes were designed to include direct hands on with the horses. One of her favorite classes involved the training of a weanling to 2 years old; it was the direct interaction with horses along with the connections to them that provided her such satisfaction. Even during her time at the University of Florida she enjoyed becoming involved in the equine industry, participating in agricultural clubs including Block and Bridle, Gator Collegiate Cattlewomen, and the Dairy Science Club.

After college, she worked on large ranches as a wrangler. It was during these adventures she decided to give back the animals that had taught her so much: love, friendship, responsibility, confidence, trust, courage, and patience. Inspiring her to further her education and began practicing animal acupressure. She received her 300-hour Equine Acupressure Practitioner Certification by Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute and is nationally certified by National Board of Certification of Animal Acupressure and Massage. Then she added another amazing certification to her practice, Red Light Therapy for Animals. With the love of all animals, she went to complete the 300-hour Small Animal Acupressure Practitioner Certification, followed by the national certification. Along with providing individualized sessions to pets, she loves to share the information she has learned to help owners understand these holistic modalities by teaching acupressure clinics for horse owners and acupressure classes for dog owners!

The program training and the real-world experiences empower her to be able to restore balance to all horses and pets!
