Equine Acupressure Foundations: Professional Level I

This course is the first step toward certification in animal acupressure, led by a Nationally Certified Animal Acupressure Practitioner. It provides the essential knowledge and hands-on skills you need to safely and effectively support your horse’s health and wellbeing. In this course, you will learn: ✨ Foundations of acupressure, how it benefits horses, and the difference between acupressure and acupuncture ✨ Key equine anatomy and meridian systems for accurate point location ✨ Vital Substances, Zang-Fu organ theory, and how they connect to wellness ✨ The bladder meridian, Source Points, and Alarm Points ✨ Assessment techniques: the Four Examinations, vitality rating, tongue, and pulse assessment ✨ Special point categories: Master, Influential, Connecting, and Jing-Well Points ✨ Basics of pathology & recognizing patterns of imbalance ✨ An introduction to photopuncture as a complementary tool You’ll also explore how acupressure can address common concerns such as allergies, digestive health, anxiety, and joint health. Students should complete Level I, then Five Element Theory Level II, then 40 hours of in-person hands-on training through our partner Northwest School of Animal Massage, and finally Level III. These total approximately 222.75 hours.
